Built-in wardrobes around chimney breast
One of our recent fitted wardrobes which we built for our customer who bought his property in Ealing and we are happy to share the working process on this page. Our customer wanted to maximize the space and build the wardrobes around the existing chimney breast. We were then able to give him advice on how to design these wardrobes with maximum potential space. The idea was to build wardrobes inside the alcoves with compartments at the front of the chimney breast. In order to create a hanging space in those compartments they have to stick out a bit as you can see in the pictures and the drawings below.
Here you can see the wardrobes with open doors after they've been installed and before they've been painted. The customer chosen shaker style doors with panels around and because the wardrobes are quite tall and designed to be made from floor to the ceiling we advised to make them with separate cupboard doors at the top. The mirror was also added on the door as an extra feature. The ceiling wasn't level and there was a bow in the center, you can clearly see in the photo with unpainted MDF because it's dark. Once the wardrobes painted this becomes hardly noticeable.
Here we showing you the wardrobe just after the painter finished his job and you can see that walls and ceiling still haven't been finished yet.

We would like to share original drawings with you so you can see that every wardrobe we made is bespoke as it depends on the customer's needs. In this case our customer decided to have 5 drawers in the middle section for well organised and easy accessible storage. Left and right sections are very deep because they are built into an alcove spaces and designed to fit the shoes at the bottom with hanging space at the top. At the top wardrobes finish with large cupboard space capable enough to hide many suitcases.
The price for this wardrobes is £5900+VAT including drawers and the mirror
